Business Ethics – Junior Staff

default-16x9

Hey guys,

Please help me. I need to do a full day workshop for Junior Staff on basic business ethics.

I have an idea on what to cover. E.g. Dress Code; Time keeping; Language/ Communication; Team work; Attitude. is there any other "must be included" for this sort of training.

Thanking you.

Fiona

  1. Business behaviour

    Hi Fiona

I would also include something on business behaviour. i.e. the differences between how they behave with their family/friends and how they should behave at work. That could include language/tone, 'banter' and what's not acceptable etc.

  2. Diversity and Inclusion

Totally agree with Sue and would also go further; talking about having a diverse workforce and the pitfalls of stereotyping.  Being understanding and tolerant of people from different backgrounds and how everyone has something to bring to the  working envoronment. I suppose legally you should also cover the Equality Act.

    Hope that helps.

  3. other points to consider

Making promises they can't keep.( explicitly, and implicitly by not pointing it out)

Is there such a thing as a 'victimless crime' (for instance using the office phone for personal calls)

Owning up to customers when things go wrong.

Owning up to their manager when they make a mistake.

Covering up for colleagues when THEY make a mistake……..

Putting up with bullying or under-resourcing.

Vicious compliance…….following rules when clearly they are "wrong"
