Does anyone know of forums or conferences taking place this year in the general area of business / occupational psychology?

One Response

  1. Association of business psychologists
The Association of Business Psychologists is holding it’s annual conference next month.

It’s in Coventry from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd May, and is £295, including full-board. Alternatively, you can just go for one day. They have
a really excellent list of speakers, from organisational and OD, to the individual and one on one coaching, from business focused subjects to
academic orientation, both public sector and private sector, consultancies
with their clients and client organisations themselves.

I’ve been the past couple of years and it’s a really friendly conference,
possibly about 150-200 delegates. Everyone was really open to talking about
their work, none of this one-upmanship that you get at other conferences. It
was a real mix of Biz Psychs, OD & HR professionals. The list of speakers
    include:
    FRIDAY
Keynote Speaker – Derek Miles, Save the Children Fund
Pauline Grant (YSC) with client Diageo – Development in the Developing World
Sarah Roberts (Human Qualities) with client – Using Embedded Learning to
facilitate a rapid Culture Change in Financial Services
Gordon Barker (Lane 4) – Coaching High Achievers
Paul Walton (Value Engineers) – Brands, Brandographics and the Management of
    Meaning

    SATURDAY
Keynote Speaker – Professor Ivan Robertson – Well Being and High Performance
at Work: Competing or Complementary Goals?
Laurence Barrett (Abbey) – Leadership and Culture: Success through networked
    change
Dr Maria Yapp (Xancam) and client Swiss Re – Teams at the Top
Roy Childs (Team Focus) – What’s new in psychometrics?
Dr Caroline Fisher (Fisher Consulting, USA) – Corporate Culture Matter:
Linking Culture to the Bottom Line and Beyond
Dr Paul Brewerton (Organisational Solutions) – Organisational Culture:
    Strategic Tool or Red Herring?
Sarah Lewis (Jemstone Consulting)- Appreicative Enquiry as a team
    development tool
Francesca buck (Kaisen) with client M&S – Performance Coaching at M&S: Good
    for People, Good for Business
Andrew Ferguson (Breakthrough) – Take the Breaks Off!

    SUNDAY
Keynote Speaker – Malcolm Stern – Conflict as a Force of Change
Dr Maggie James (Compass Business Partners)- The Real Challenge of Leading
    People through Change
    Chris Mulrooney (Accenture)
Adrian Starkey (SHL) with client AXA UK – Developing Leadership Fit for the
    Financial Services
