Can anyone recommend a video of a meeting to practice minute taking?

default-16x9

Hi all,

We run a course on taking minutes and have been looking for a new meeting video/dvd to allow delegates to practice taking minutes during the course. We currently use
"The Minutes of the Meeting" from Skill Bank which is less than ideal.

We have trawled extensively in the past - but wondered if anyone's aware of anything produced in the last couple of years in this regard?

All suggestions welcome - on or offline.

Many thanks
Christina

  1. Mind Maps
    Hi Christina

This may or may not be an alternative. Have you considered using mind maps as an alternative to standard minute taking?

Tony Buzan has written several books on the subject and I use mind maps for all sorts of things. Admitedly I haven’t used it for minute taking and anything is worth a go!

Look at http://www.mindmap.com or Amazon for books.

    Good luck
    Sophie

  2. Still open to suggestions
Thanks Sophie. We do indeed explore mind maps as one means of note-taking amongst others.

But what we’re really struggling to find is a sample meeting on video that students can practice their skills with – preferably containing some reasonably complex discussion.

  3. film one
Its relatively cheap to organise a filming to your own specification – you could probably do it for £1500 or less – and you’d own the copyright so you could reproduce it
