Can anyone recommend good Project Management training?

default-16x9

I'm seeking recommendations for good quality short training courses covering general project management (to enhance knowledge of an existing project manager to a more 'professional' level - Prince not required as this level) and also something specifically on the 'soft' skills of encouraging commitment / influencing & persuading project team members. The environment is aerospace engineering. Based Hampshire so the closer to this, the more convenient. I would very much appreciate the benefit of anyones previous experience. Thank you.

I did precisely this for a client a few years ago.

I have also worked with both BAe and Lucas Aerospace in the past (the latter with some Project Management content)

I’m currently putting together a Project Management course for both a charity and an engineering consultancy
I’m based in Hampshire (about 4 miles from Farnborough)
Sadly I don’t do open courses but if the information above grabs you please get in touch

  2. A recommendation
We use Coverdate for our one-day programme. The course is excellent and their fees very reasonable.

  3. Project Management training + soft skills
I can highly recommend Deborah Willis of DW Training Solutions, based in Hampshire. Deborah has an excellent reputation for combining the sound ‘technical’ aspects of project management with the all important ‘soft skills’. I have worked with Deborah myself and recommended her to several of my own clients who have always been very impressed with the results she delivers. Her contact details are [email protected]. +44 (02380) 268640 should you wish to follow up.

It might be a good idea if you can talk to a real, current project manager. Find out what they do, what works, their approaches and get them to help you shape a programme in terms of ingredients. There are some people in the aerospace industry who sideline on consultancy/training. I know of a very competent and successful project and programme manager, would be happy to refer – contact me directly [email protected]

  5. try Mentor
You might try Mentor Group, based in St Albans but their consultants all travel. Ask for Peter Nightingale – he is good.
