In my coaching, I have been asked about what models I use. I don't subscribe to a specific model. Can anyone share their knowledge and or/use of various coaching models?

I’m sure I won’t be the only person to think of this basic model – probably the most widely used one – assuming the coaching is for personal development based on goal identification. GROW stands for Goals (identifying them) Reality (whats happening now?) Options (what are they?) and Way forward (action planning). I find the G & R interchange depending upon the initial reason for the coaching (start with Reality check if goals aren’t clear). I’m sure other contibutors to this site will elaborate/denegrate as they feel fit.

  2. In addition to Rick’s suggestion…
You might want to add an element that deals with any barriers or challenges to the way forward AND ways in which those barriers or challenges can be resolved.

This is from a different model LABCO
    Learned – (what)
Action – (that will be taken)
    Benefits – (WIIFyou)
Challenges – (what do you personally have to overcome)
Overcome – (how will you deal with the challenges

    Hope this helps,
