Confidence Training

default-16x9

This specifically relates to an individual (mid 20's) who is based in the arts and needs confidence when communicating with people outside his sphere of work.

It can be 1 on 1 or part of a group format - i'm open to suggestions of providors.

Many thanks, Andy

  1. Work on a Gradual and Long Lasting Improvement
    Andy,
There are really many issues to be considered.
I will explain here some of the methods we have used to help people to develop their confidence – this is not generally our covert aim, but has been an outcome for many of the individuals we have worked with. My main message to you is that you need to take a gradual and longer term view to gain a long lasting real improvement for your person.

We work with managers in organisations and have found that the best way to help people to develop their confidence is in a gradual step by step way. We generally work with individuals/small groups over quite a long period of time and help them to identify specific objectives that they can work towards and achieve. Success definitely breeds confidence and by achieving small objectives the individual can then move themselves towards the next hurdle. Coaching is one method that can help your person. We like to work to help people by using an action development approach – getting them to investigate their issues, to read/discuss the issues and to identify their own improvement objectives. In this way the learning and development is owned by the learner and when the ‘coach’ or facilitator moves away the learning and development gained stays fully in tact. We use NLP as part of our methodology.

We would start with a Personal Development Plan for the individual and action steps. A programme would be produced for the individual.
They may want to join in group work with others who may be working on a variety of topics. If you want to discuss this more do give me a ring on 01772 679950. Hopefully the the ideas will help your thinking.

    Best Regards,

    Anita Wild

  2. ITC
You might like to consider joining ITC (International Training in Communication) which is a not-for-profit self-development organisation. You can find details of ITC in the UK at http://www.itcgb.org.uk

  3. NLP-based approaches can be very helpful
My experience (as a ‘recipient’ as well as a deliverer) is that NLP offers huge advances in personal confidence and esteem across the spectrum of an individual’s life. I might suggest starting with a 4 day diploma which I would expect to convince your client of the value of doing a full Practitioner.
One alternative would be 1:1 coaching and we offer a 5 session programme that quite transforms people’s lives – email for details.

    Regards
