Convert F2F training to virtual

default-16x9

Hi all

I need to convert traditional Face to face training into something virtual.

What are the downsides of virtual instructor lead sessions, with self study and practice in between?

Would some kind of "augmented" e-learning also be effective? Was thinking virtual kick off session, followed by individual e-learning , augmented by online discussions, and a virtual wrapping up session.

Are there any other formats that could work?

Thanks!

One Response

  1. downsides of virtual instructor led sessions

    1. Designer (who may also the be the instructor) thinks that just using the ppt used in the classroom will suffice, they probably won't. On a virtual classroom the focus shifts from the instructor to the visual, so if the participants are looking at the same unchanging visual for more than a couple of minutes, they'll probably switch off.

    2. Instructor drones on in lecture mode, see 1 above. Participants need to focus on something and that is rarely a voice. There should be interaction every couple of minutes as well; a hands up, a poll a question to answer, an anecdote for the participants to share.

    I hope that helps

With regard to the "augmented" approach you mentioned yes, I think that should work well
