Cost of training

default-16x9

I am currently preparing my budget and proposing that the board increase the amount per head they currently contribute. I am initially doing this by showing them the costs of delivering what they have requested but would also like to back in up by showing that they haven't increased our per head allocation for over 5 years, and in that time the cost of training has increased x percent. How/ where can I find out about the inflation in external training costs? Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Jo – CIPD information library may be able to help if you are a member, Personnel Today have a benchmarking session which may also help, Learning and Skills Council, ITOL, and most likely another member of trainingzone!

Just a thought! Rather tahn focus on costs per head and inflation, might you look at return on investment/value for money? Its not easy to quantify, but with effort is possible. That, together with benchmarking might make a more powerful case for the Board. Their questions are going to be HOW MUCH & WHATS THE RETURN?
