What are the current trends in e-learning? The emphasis being on areas such as distance learning, virtual classroom and e-university.
Thanks.

Shant,
Have a look at the e-LearningZone at https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/elearningzone/index.html . The area is maintained by our partner in this venture Elearnity.
E-Learning – trend or friend?
Shant
I have been involved in e-learning at it’s various stages and have seen many arguments for and against it.
The problem we face at the moment is that it lacks credibility within the mindsets of traditional organisations and also that a lot of companies utilise it as a substitute for usual training methods.
A suggested use for e-learning (that I have been involved with and works quite well as an introduction to e-learning on a greater scale) is to use it as part of a ‘blended learning solution’ training package.
This is where you have lots of different training interventions (e-learning as part) and people self-select the learning timetable that is beneficial to them in terms of learning style and time.
E-learning works well as long as they are well planned, well executed with trained support is available (e-learning is not fun alone) and that learning objectives/outcomes/expectations are clear from the beginning.

Good luck with it; let me know how you do!
Kate 🙂
