The Darlington College of Technology are offering Managers the opportunity of studying for the Institute of Management Certificate and Diploma qualifications on-line.
The programme they have devised incorporates delivery of material via computer through the college IT facilities and also provides remote access. Existing students can have access from home, work and at one of the college sites.
Students who attend the standard, class-based programmes can also gain access to these materials, providing excellent back-up for missed sessions, also helping retention and achievement rates.
The classroom is now virtual with tutors giving support via e-mail, chat-rooms and video-conferencing.
For further information, contact Pat Hall who is the programme leader on phall@darlington.ac.uk or telephone 01352 503267.

A future in mixed mode delivery?
Our on-line IM Certificate materials have been used by our taught programme students for the past year and their feedback has been very enthusiastic. It provides added flexibility when managers find attendance problematic, but also in supporting learning in the classroom. Perhaps mixed mode delivery is one of the future options where students do most of their learning in their own time, but have a regular and substantial input via workshops (to help them keep motivated and track).
