Data Protection Training

default-16x9

My company deal in the both the corporate and retail arena and therefore have diverse contact with information that needs to be handled under the data protection act. I need to put all data handlers through some form of training to make them aware of all of the issues. Has anyone done this already and which way worked best?

Many thanks

  1. Data protection
First point of call should be the Data Protection Registrar site as you can order a short video and leaflets to aid your training free of charge. Also look at the DTI website for info.

In addition start with listing all information currently held as well as the storage facilities. That helps you to identify the different levels of data protection needed.

For further info and some more ideas call us on 0870 241 3998 ( Sue, Toni or Bob) to discuss some more ideas.Remember that it is not just the Data Protection Act that looks at this area there is other legislation too to consider.

    Best of luck

  2. Have You Looked At Skillbites.com?
    Dear John

Have you taken a look at Skillbites.com if not it’s a eLearning portal which offers over 175 courses online.

Anyway the reason i mention it is that one of the courses they offer is Data Protection. Maybe you should take a look, you can gain access to the system by signing up for a free trial.

I know that M&G (part of Prudential Assurance Group) use the system to train 2000 staff in Data Protection. One of the main reasons they use it is that at the end of the programme there is a test which records each member of staffs results which provides them with proof of learning which is great for obvious legal reasons.

The website address is http://www.skillbites.com, hope this is useful.
