Dealing with Conflict

default-16x9

Hello all!

I've ground to a halt in writing a course and need some inspiration... As the tiltle of this question suggests, it's called 'Dealing with Conflict' and is covers group dynamics, tips on minimising conflict, understanding the causes and techniques on dealing with conflict. I've gone down the Tuckman route already, but if you know for sure something works well then please share!

Many thanks in advance,
Nikki

  1. define conflict

you may have already done this but I found that the initial definition was CRUCIAL…
-is conflict a difference of opinion?
-is conflict a strong difference of opinion?
    -is conflict strong words?
    -is conflict strong actions?
    and
    -is conflict always bad?

Some people will want to deny conflict exists in their team and the definition therefore becomes very important to gaining acceptance that it is worth dealing with.

Last but not least…we are generally better at TALKING about conflict than we are at DEALING with it….get some reality practice at handling conflict…that really helps
