    I saw a colleacgue come unstuck in this area when he used an exercise that was about decision making in the “wrong” context;
    the exercise he used was one where the delegates needed to work out the answer to a problem BUT, there was a clear “right” answer. This didn’t help the delegates because what they actually needed was help with situations where the “right”-ness or “wrong”-ness was less clear (clear not simple), and the whole issue was wrapped in shades of grey.

    We disussed this at some length and he concluded that he would, if in the same situation again, address the issue by asking delegates to identify the different factors that effect decison making; for example, “is it MY decision?”, “will others be affected?”, “is there any MORAL argument here?”, “will the success of THIS decision be effected by some other totally unknown reaction by another party?” and so on.
    I’d recommend introducing “The Three Greeks”….
    I hope this helps

  2. Exercises
    Good morning, Fiona

    I have some exercises based on Tversky & Kahneman’s ideas about biases & heuristics in decision making. A little bit technical but enlightening nonetheless.

    Happy to share them with you if you think they might be useful.
