Do you know of any mentoring schemes for Arts Marketers?

I am currently researching a mentoring scheme for the Arts Marketing Association. The AMA is the professional development body for arts marketers in the UK. The organisation provides networking and training opportunities and the mentoring scheme will develop the AMA's services further. Does the Training Zone have a mentoring scheme, or information pertaining to mentoring schemes that would assist my research?

  1. Virtual Mentoring for AMA Members
The Virtual Management Group provide a range of TeleMentoring and TeleCoaching services for individuals and groups. For more details email [email protected]

  2. Making Contact with Arts Management
I am interested in making contact and discussuing the work you are doing on Arts management mentoring. I have no panacea to offer, but would be interested in working with you to develop the scheme, as a number of our graduates go on to work in arts Management. I am working on a project developing coaching as a learning technique for print media companies.

  3. Why not consider accrediting your mentors?
I am working with many organisations on and around mentoring, and I am finding the City and Guilds NVQ mini-award a useful framework for the development of mentors, and as a means of recognising and rewarding these valuable people – at last!

I use the paperless portfolio to assess mentor competences, and have produced some material that may be of interest – such as my 120plus roles for mentors, or the summary of powerful articles to help mentors become more informed.

Do get in touch if I can help – I’ll be happy to send you any materials of use via e-mail.
