I have been tasked with creating some training material not only to raise the awareness of DSE assessments within our business but to also create a training package that will allow me to train future DSE assessors. I need to know what legislation the business needs to comply with and are there any specific pit falls that I should be aware of? For example is E-learning acceptable? Are there any specific regulations that cover self assessments? All responses will be much appreciated.

Having recently checked this out before buying in some DSE Assessor training, I would recommend using the HSE website, there is a useful leaflet you can download for circulation to employees. I have also purchased an on-line self assessment tool which employees can access, reallu
y useful for those who hotdesk and it ticks a box from a H&S point of view as well.

Agreed – the HSE site has a copy of their leaflet INDG36(rev3) that covers everthing an employee needs to know. It also sells checklists at £5 for 5 that are excellent.
