The latest addition to the TrainingZONE Document Centre is an e-learning paper written by Bob Banks, e-Learning Architect & Kyle McGrath, e-Learning Consultant of FD Learning Ltd.

In the e-Learning Content Advisory Paper, they aim to introduce the reader to the issues of authoring and managing web-enabled learning materials or ‘e-content’ in relation to online learning environments, and to provide some suggested methodologies and solutions.

The paper examines how to choose the type of content needed for a particular context, and goes on to consider the issues involved in sourcing content, whether to use external providers or make use of existing internal expertise. The paper also looks at the technical issues involving in re-using content, in particular the need for standards, the use of ‘learning objects’ and the relevance of purchasing off-the-shelf content.
