e-line learning – training required

default-16x9

I am looking for advice or guidance about setting up on line learning. I currently work in management development and would like to learn how to set up on line learning support for my participants. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would prefer a course that provides on line support but is essentially face to face (I learn better that way)It must be both cost and time effective and based in the UK. Any guidance appreciated.

  1. Learning online
I suggest you look at http://www.iqdos.com (the company is IQDos in Marlow, they are linked to Excel Communications) they offer sessions and seminars linked to online learning. Sue Hasrley is the best contact and please mention my name when calling. There is also a conference on 7 and 8 November in London on online learning which I think I saw details of in the BAOL (British Association of Open Learning) their websire http://www.baol.co.uk should also contain some info and links for you. Let me know if you need more detail. We are developing a learning portal and management development material for senior management using technology where it is appropriate to the learning objectives.

  2. Try Tina Poulson
Speak to a lady called Tina Poulson at the Institute of IT Training. She can probably tell you all you need to know and they run a series of courses to match your needs. Based in Coventry. Phone Number not to hand.

  3. LeTTOL Course
have you looked at the LeTTOL (Learning To Teach On-Line) course http://www.sheffcol.ac.uk/lettol/enquire.htm

Although I have no personal experience of this course, it carries 4 level 3 credits under the National Open College Network framework, and it seems to cover some good stuff. And it is not too expensive!

  4. e-learning training
I am the TD Manager for a national on-site communications/security services company.

We are using e-learning technology to support management development across our business. There are many pitfalls and traps to be wary of, including the use of technology for the sake of it.

We use e-learning via email & discussion forums to support a programme of underpinning management knowledge which we then complement with up to 3 days of face-2-face practical stuff to put a relevant context to it all.

We are using the services of a small company called Potential Energy Ltd. We have received training in the delivery of this type of medium and have worked closely with them to ready materials for delivery.

Send me an email if you are interested in contacting them – I don’t have their details to hand at the mo.
