Effective Meetings Exercise

default-16x9

I would like to ask if anyone has a good interactive exercise I can use
in a Running Effective Meetings training session. It will be used very early on in the session, I'm not after an ice breaker but instead something that can be used to get the session off to a great start and get their buy in early on.

The session is aimed at middle management and the group size will be approx 8.

Many thanks

    Hi Cliff,

please give me a ring as I am sure I will have something that can help. I have a large amount of exercises/case studies and ice-breakers to choose from so there is bound to be something there for you but it will help to understand more about your audience and their/your needs.

Where are you working these days?

I am trying this idea for the second time this Saturday on one of my courses. Choose a topic or brief for the meeting. Ask the group to discuss it in the raw. Stop after 20 mins.Introduce Belbin and distribute questionnaire.Once people have established their Belbins, reconvene meeting and observe. Seek feedback on completion after 30 mins.Your before and after Belbin should provide good insights for individuals viz a viz their strengths and weaknesses AS WELL as much collecive wisdom about dynamics of a meeting, look out for this, watch this etc
It is my own creation. It works for me

    Hi Cliff,

We always used to use John Cleese’ “Meetings, Bloody Meetings” & its successor “More Bloody Meetings”, which used to be available from Video Arts. (Been out of touch for a while, so I’m not sure who is distributing the videos)
