People Management magazine reported on 11 March:

'Leigh Lewis, chief executive of the Employment Service (ES), has told MPs that his department would be able to take on the work of the training and enterprise councils, fuelling further speculation on the fate of the Tec network.

Giving evidence on the ES’s future at a recent Commons select committee, Lewis said it was not inconceivable that the service could take on the training role of the Tecs.'
