Does your organisation have equality training which contributes to the development of policies and practices to combat discrimination on grounds of racial and ethnic origin, religion and belief, disability, age and sexual orientation. (Due to funding legislation we are not able to liase with organisations who develop work around solely gender based issues).
We are current looking for partners who may be interested in forming a consortium on an EC funded project. Bids have to be in before 1st August
A project over 12-15 months involving 3-4 organisations in UK doing equality training with different grounds for discrimination + 3-4 organisations from different European countries working with the same range of issues to:
1. develop a common account of discrimination
2. develop the theory and definition of equality training - what difference is it trying to make, what methods does it use and why
3. exchange materials across countries and ‘issues’, and adapt materials from one context to another (and if possible, test these new materials in practice)
4. Exchange ideas and good practice on training trainers, marketing, quality assurance, payment
5. Establish a web-based resource bank and exchange for equality trainers across Europe.
