Facilities management – Competencies

default-16x9

I am talking to facilities managers who are at various leels within organisations, in order to identify competencies for this type of work. They are mainly ex-engineers in management posts.

These competencies are to fulfil a number of uses such as Annual Assesssments etc.

Can anyone provide some outline or information on the type of competencies I'm likely to working with.

  1. Sharing you 8 competency areas
    Hi David,

These are the 8 competency areas I have come across:

    1. Operation & Maintenance
    2. Property Asset Management (or can be named Real Estate)
    3. Human & Environmental Factors
    4. Planning & Proj. Mgt.
    5. Facility Function
    6. Finance
    7. Quality Assurance & Innovation
    8. Communication

Remember that these are competency areas and its definition or description is the area where you will need to define or expound to identify performance indicators for each area.

I hope that this helps you.
    Best,
    Isabelle
