Can anyone recommend training videos on bleeding, shock and burns that are English and not american! I need them for first aid training.

  1. First aid videos
    Try http://www.intek.co.uk/

I have not used this company so cannot comment on their videos. They include bleeding, shock and burns, and cost £75 each – but you can preview them before deciding to purchase.

I have used the video Learning for Life from the British Heart Foundation – deals with basic life support, unconsciousness, recovery position, choking and bleeding. Very good value for £9.99 (a couple of years ago).

Generally speaking I find first aid training videos disappointing, because of poor acting and amateurish production and simulations. Also, they may not conform to current guidelines from the UK Resuscitation Council and the UK first aid organisations.

  2. SP Supplies might help…
I’ve bought First Aid items from SP Supplies who have a lot of DVD’s, books and videos on their web site including pretty much every other peice of medical equipment! Fast and efficient mail order. They may be top end price wise but would probably be good quality.

I saw a good video on heart attack/MCI used on a course but I think that originated from The Heart Foundation or similar…

    Hope this helps..!
