Flexible working or fast track to an early grave?

default-16x9

I received a press release today from BT which really incensed me - the title being: CREDIT CRUNCH MEANS BOSSES MUST BE IN TOUCH - EVEN ON HOLIDAY - TO SURVIVE.

BT claims that, according to a report from the Centre for Future Studies:
"Only businesses which can respond to their customers’ needs from the train, hotel room or even the beach will be agile enough to prosper."

This, supposedly, is flexible working.
What about work/life balance? Isn't everyone entitled to take a break?

I have asked the centre for more information and will let you know more in due course.

  1. Research information
BT says it will release further details of the research carried out by the Centre for Future Studies on its behalf, in September. I will keep you posted!
