Free e-learning on Learning at Work Day!

default-16x9

With Learning at Work Day soon to be upon us again, a number of special offers have been launched to help kick-start events.

E-learning providers iLearn. To and Skillsoft are giving companies the chance to use this year's Learning at Work Day, being held on Thursday 17 May, to find out whether e-learning is for them. The day's organisers, the Campaign for Learning, have persuaded the providers to make access to language, communications and customer service courses free for the day.

The Campaign’s Marketing Director Michelle Wake says this is a great opportunity to encourage and stimulate training activity without spending time organising and arranging events: "Employers do not have to devote a lot of time to organising this activity. They do need to ensure that staff feel they have time to access the courses, however. Learning lunch hours are just one way of making that time available."

Skillsoft's offerings will include a starter course in getting the most out of e-learning, 'The many faces of communication', 'Create your own time and memory management programme' and 'The customer driven organisation'. iLearn. To will be offering free courses in French, German and Italian and will also be giving employers the chance to set up their own online 'Corporate University' with access to iLearn. To courses for £25 per employee.

Not all the offers are virtual though - you'll also be able to get nearly 40 per cent off the Learning for Work series of work books, which cover subjects such as using e-mail, getting started on the Internet and leading team meetings. Also available are the Learning Climate Questionnaire, designed to diagnose the strength of a workplace’s learning climate, and a Five Day Learning Diary. All special offers will be accessible on the Campaign for Learning's website in the next few weeks, as will access to the free e-learning materials.

Learning at Work Day is sponsored by Lloyds TSB, Cable and Wireless, totaljobs.com and learndirect and supported by the Departments for Education and Employment and Trade and Industry.
