Freelance

default-16x9

Hi, I am currently in the process of possibly setting up as a freelance trainer. I do do some training for external companies at the moment. i feel that this is now the best time to use my skills and experience i have picked over the years, and benefit others. Could anyone please help or give me any pointers, or if you need any training in Tyne & wear, teesside, northumberland area please give me a shout.
Many Thanks
Stephen

  1. freelance or going solo
    Hi Stephen
welcome to the journey. There have been several threads on this forum recently (as well as the CIPD forum if you are a member). worth a search if you have not already done so.

The freelance market is difficult at the moment with many finding difficulty obtaining work at sustainable rates. If go down the route of being the cheapest you will soon have many competitors who will beat you on price – go for service.

    Sites worth exploring include http://www.trainerbase.co.uk & http://www.ukhrd.com

Both have resources and guides by freelance trainers for freelance trainers. I have published some ‘tips’ type documents on my website (see profile for details).

Do your homework, build relationships and networks locally.

Invest in professional looking email addresses, web site etc.

Most importantly of all complete your profile otherwise people cannot contact you via this site!

    I wish you well
    Mike
