Having spun out of smartphones and laptops not that long ago, tablets are now a developed and diverse medium all of their own. All the big players (Google, Apple, Samsung) have a line of tablet devices, as do some brands more usually associated with supermarkets (Tesco). Tablet learning is usually bracketed with mobile learning, although these days all good elearning will be tested to render with all the needed functionality across all different devices, platforms and browsers. Tablets combine the portability of a phone with (close to) the screen size of a laptop. Couple this with things like bluetooth keyboards, and tablets prove a realistic option for both business and consumer needs.
