I'm considering going it alone as a training consultant. Any advice would be appreciated.

Going solo or freelance?
Hi Mark
There have been a few threads on here recently – search for ‘going solo’ or ‘freelance’ (see below).
Rather than repeat too much more of the same:
1) Network – Training Journal , TrainerBase , as well as any professional body you are a member of: CIPD, CMI, etc
2) Set your price and stick to it – it is too easy to cut your prices to get work – and if you are not careful you will not have a sustainable business model
3) Find a niche – there are 1000’s of freelance people out there – why would they use you? (sure you can deliver what you are competent to do but people buy solutions so identify a problem they have and generate a market).
3) Web presence – get yourself know through sites like this, TrainerBase etc.
I’m sure others will add too.
