1. sadly…..

…the current government is still in line with their predecessor in thinking that a degree automatically makes a person more employable……and that is before you get into discussions about student loans etc etc.

My son is 22, he has a First class Honours degree and an MA at Distinction….he is currently working six days a week on just above minimum wage…..he will get a better job, but it is still going to take a decade to clear his debt.

    Life is full of challenges!

  2. Nursery School

Perhaps this government should go to nursery school and grow up. More seriously, this shows a complete misunderstanding about the hows and whys adults learn and what the world means. It is not examinable, factual knowledge. It is the ability to do something.

  3. I would quite agree that

I would quite agree that degree does not mean decent job and proper salary nowadays, if the government intention is just to increase the debt people have or involve them in a new circle of student debt – no surprise for me. There are a lot of examples of people earning enough for a luxury living without degree as well as the individuals with proper education head over heals in all kind of consumer loans.
