How do you make your training sessions practical?

I have been approaches by many trainers asking me how to make their presentations more relevant to participants Care to share how you make your sessions practical?How do you keep your participants involved all the time? E.G in a sales or customer service training session.

    1) Find out what they need to know and be able to do

    2) Find out what they want to know and be able to do

    3) Teach them both of the above

    4) Test 1) and 2) and 3) to make sure they can now do it to the required standards

    5) Get someone in who who knows how to do 1) 2) 3) 4) 

  2. Making training practical

    Hi.

    Make sure that the training is relevant to the audience and design it with plenty of practical exercise and syndicate work. Engage the audience with relevant questions so that they are involved. Use plenty of real-life examples, analogies and relevant stories and ensure the audience is encouraged to share theirs.

    I agree entirely with Steve's thoughts too.
