Ideas for Activities at Manager Away day

default-16x9

I am looking for possible fun activites to use during a management away day. We are focusing on managers adopting the new culture change and would like the activities to be focused around this topic, and /or that will generate some energy(approx 4 teams, max 5/team). I'd appreciate any help and advice anyone can provide!

  1. NLP Toolkit
Many activities from the NLP toolkit might help. Try some ideas from http://www.changemagic.com as a starter for 10. Alternatively I can recommend a session facilitated by Peter Freeth (peter@ciauk.com) – a very cost effective expert in doing these things for a wide range of companies.

  2. John Adair
I have always found that John Adair team building activities are really good value and timeless

  3. Buttermilk
The best activity I have come across with a “change” theme is called “The Buttermilk Activity”. For brief instructions go here: http://www.basrc.org/4/buttermilk.html.
I prefer to add a couple variants in the activity. Have 3 “leaders” and 3 “resistors” per group along with observers. There really isn’t a need for supporters unless it fits your goals.
A great twist is to add blue food coloring to the buttermilk through a syringe and not let them open the buttermilk until they agree to drink. This adds another dimension for getting a change different than what was expected. The discussions afterwards can be incredible when related to your organization. Good luck!

  4. Away Day Activities
You may like to take a look at the activity ‘search engine’ at http://www.EventSearch.net It’s very quick and easy – just click in your required outcomes, plus numbers, timescale, etc, and it will produce a list of appropriate activities for you.

  5. Unique events to change team relationships and climate
I would recommend taking the teams into a different environment such as Unique Events who provide superb ‘business scenario’ events on their high and low ropes courses down in the woods. You can contact them on 0118 933 2222

  6. Serious Play
Lego’s ‘Serious Play’great fun way to get people sharing ideas and talking.

  7. Fun Away Day Activities

Interactive, team-based ‘masterclass’ style events such as Cocktail Making, Magic Tricks, Sushi Making or Casino Skills events are an entertaining option for an ‘end of away day’ reward and team bonding. They’re very social and ensure guests work together in a fun, competitive and interactive format. http://www.liquidcircle.co.uk are a fully mobile & highly professional events company, who bring these events to conference centres, hotels, offices and away day locations across the country. Priced from just £29 +VAT per person, there are some really good value and fun activities from Liquid Circle Events.
