Immersion Training

Can anybody help with this query?

Am looking for information re immersion training in an IT context for a client who has an interview related to this . Background information or internet links would be appreciated

    Immersion Training simply means training where you are engaged in whatever you’re learning instead of simply sitting in a classroom learning about the subject at second or third hand.

    Simple example:

    Training in the French language: Live and work in, say, England – read books, go to weekly practise group, listen to tapes, CDs, etc. The rest of the time speak English, read English-language books, newspapers, etc, watch BBC TV.

    Immersion Training: Learn French by going to live in France. Work with French-speaking people, read French books, magazines, etc., watch French TV.

    Obviously there are “levels” of Immersion Training – the weekly French language practice group isn’t “full” immersion, but it’s further down that route than just listening to a French language vocabulary tape.

    As far as Immersion Training and IT is concerned, I suggest you access a search engine such as Google and use the key words/phrases “immersion training”, IT and UK (the last only if the courses need to be in the UK, of course!).
