We are considering investing in a software package by Trainersoft to produce a series of Training Modules in-house. Trainersoft will carry out the HTML coding for us. Has anybody used Trainersoft Professional or similar? What are your experiences

I’ve used Trainersoft to develop stand-alone Web-based training content and have found it to be very helpful, though basic. The tool provides a method for standardising you material and presenting it in a uniform manner. I used the cheapo version of the software (£200-300 reatil if I remember) though I understand there is a professional version.
With the content I developed, I found it very difficult to incorporate it into existing Learning Management Systems to allow me to track usage at topic level – it was easy to just provide a link to the whole course but not to “integrate” it – an issue with any self build content I think, there seems to be a lack of formal, recognised standards and tools for this currently…
We specialise in custom built cbt
We have just launched a new range of services for business in your position. We can help provide training on how to develop in house cbt (I must admit using packages other than the one you mention), work alongside you to help you create professional quality cbt which meets your exact needs, or take the whole project on – at very competitive rates. Give us a call on 01423 546958 or visit our website at http://www.pdc-online.co.uk for more information. Alternatively, if you email me your details, I send some further information out to you.

Trainer1 is the diamond reseller for trainersoft products in the UK..In response to the posting the reason you have trouble with any LMS is that the Express version (cut down) of the product has no AICC compliancy, you need the Pro version. Just released is Version 8 both with AICC and Scorm1.2
