Innovation – any ideas?!

default-16x9

I work for an organisation who's staff survey reveals a relativley low level of innovation within its culture.

I am now embarking upon a project to further investigate this.

Has anyone else tackled a similar problem, or know of useful reading to get me started?

  1. Innovation Development
Suggest contacting an Organisation called The Performance Group, contact name David Oliver. [email protected] who have been working with European Multi national Companies to identify Innovation condusive enviroments and factors which enhance innovation potential.
If no joy there please do contact me back!

  2. Using Metaplan for innovation
At Ambit we use Metaplan – equipment which encourages contributions and releases energy. It overcomes the many problems associated with creativity in work groups – fighting for airtime, brilliant introverts, what to do with unwanted ideas, handling the loudmouth. In addition to the actual equipment, we have developed numerous structures that can be used depending on the requirement of the group. I can tell you about organisations that have changed their culture using these approaches. Let me know if you want more info. Mike

  3. Built-in creativity
Jon – I’ve written a piece about systemic or built-in creativity called “Why creativity courses can’t work”. If you would like a draft copy let me know your email and I’ll send it on. Innovation – a useful definition is ‘profitable change’ – is limited by much the same blocks. Is your organisation monitoring sustaining or distruptive innovation, or both?

  4. Encouraging Innovation in Business
    Jon,
I believe we have met, though my memory fails me as to when and where, but I believe it was some time ago.
I have written a paper on innovation and would happily send you a copy. If I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
