Interactive exercises/self-assessment tasks needed for Appraisee training

default-16x9

Our company has recently developed a new Appraisal system which is Competency based. I have been involved in delivering workshops to Line Managers to introduce them to the new system and the most effective way for them to use it. The workshops also included interactive sessions to encourage thoughts, experiences to be raised and views to be aired. These sessions worked particularly well and were well received by each group.

I am now looking to deliver similar workshops to Appraisees and wondered if anyone had any exercises, thoughts or tips I could use to encourage interaction.

Thank you.

    Hi Ann
I have run various courses for appraisees, one thing I found helped was to complete a couple of self review forms which we use for preparing for the review and get the group to make suggestions about how better use could be made of them.
On a similiar line I have written various objectives onto cards and then participants have assessed these to see if they are SMART
The main thing I do though is to encourage participants to talk about past experiences of appraisal – often bad and help them to start afresh with our scheme at Eversheds
