default-16x9

Global learning provider, Tata Interactive Systems(TIS), has received an award for corporate social responsibility.

The Readers’ Digest Pegasus CSR Awards recognise outstanding work done by socially conscious companies in India. The awards identify best practices and innovations by Indian companies in fulfilling their responsibilities to diverse stakeholders.

In this way, Readers’ Digest, the largest selling English language magazine, also aims to make companies aware of their role as good citizens – and role models - of a fast-developing nation.

Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) is part of the international $45bn Tata Group. Sanjaya Sharma, CEO of TIS said: "This award is a testimonial to our continuing commitment to improve the quality of education and make learning accessible to students with learning difficulties. It was awarded for our various CSR initiatives, taking into consideration our partnerships, approach, deployment, voluntary activities and results."

Some of TIS’s multi-pronged initiatives to spread awareness of learning difficulties and promote remediation include the annual Tata Interactive Learning Disability Forum (TLDF); a long-standing partnership with the learning difficulties clinic at Sion Hospital, in Mumbai; proposals for changes in the medical and teacher training curricula, and the development of a book, 'Brain Teasers' for students with learning difficulties and their parents.
