International Trainee Programme – Virtual Teams?

default-16x9

Hi all

I am currently looking into the possibility of setting up an international graduate trainee programme and was wondering if anyone has had experience and has any advice for me.

We have run a UK programme in the past where each indidivual has a home team and the trainees as a group come together for various activities such as projects, training, community activities.

This has worked well in the UK but team projects could be tricky with an international team which is why I'd be grateful for any information or advice on setting up and running virtual teams.

Please feel free to post a reply or email me.

thanks
Paul

  1. Take a look at Moodle
I am involved in a somewhat similar project for an NGO working in Africa.

I am looking at using Moodle as a way of making information and training easily available through the web to a vitual community.

To paraphrase their website:-Moodle is a course management system (CMS) – a free, Open Source software package designed to help trainers create effective online learning communities.

    You can find them at
    http//moodle.org

The main benefit I can see is that it is likely to save me from re-inventing the wheel! And hence saving a lot of time…

    Good luck

  2. International Graduate Programme
    Dear Paul

I worked for an organisation where we had an extremely successful international Graduate Programme – it was very structured and individualised programme involving international assignments and exposure to many countries and parts of the business.

Selecting the right trainees is crucial as are having a good policy but you need to put measures in place to ensure that you keep these trainees challenged and motivated, offering a solid support system at all times.

I would be happy to talk you through it. Please e-mail me separately and I will give you my contact details.
