International websites

I work for an American company with offices based throughout the world. I have personal responsibilities for South Africa, Israel and Sri Lanka and would like to find routes of getting information about employment law, custom & practices and other issues.

  1. International law
    Try http://www.legal500.com and
    http://library.ukc.ac.uk/library/lawlinks/international.htm to start with.

These both seem to offer quite a bit free and will help you look at the research parameters.

UK Employment law is a massive subject area alone and I do wonder sometimes how personnel professionals keep up given all their other duties.

We train in legal topics to both lawyers and business and it is a full time job for 3 people just keeping the employment areas updated.

Awareness can be gleaned from the sites but before using the law on them, you need to check it out with a regional lawyer as reading up on it is really just the beginning.

I hope they are of help to you.
