The Institute of Directors (IOD) has launched a networking programme for managing directors, chief executives and senior partners to help them to keep abreast of the latest theory and solutions in business.
The IoD's Director Development Networks (DDN), which are focussed on the business growth model involve groups of between ten and twelve delegates meeting together locally on a regular basis to share in the latest business thinking and address their own business issues.
On joining, members will complete an individual and organisation assessment, the results of which will be used as the basis for an individual development plan. In addition, one-to-one coaching will be available from the chairperson of each group.
Initially the programme will take place in the Midlands, London and the South East, with plans to develop a nationwide network of groups in the future.
John Weston, Head of IoD Director Development, says: "The IoD recognises that it is tough and lonely at the top. The DDN provides the natural way to develop thoughts and ideas with other directors in a totally non-threatening environment".
