Is it all summer holidays or September registrations in your dealership?

Are all your staff in that summer holiday mood? The kids are on their holidays and everyone is thinking sun, sea and sand.

But what about the September new car order bank I ask you? How is yours shaping up? Are all your staff thinking about their holidays and focusing their priority on this?

We all know in the motor trade that July is a crucial time of year to start building for the new September registration. Targets are set, and it seems every year dealerships have to self register cars to meet those targets. So, are the targets too high? Or do we just not prepare early enough and place enough focus on taking those orders. Anyone who simply thinks of the current month and let the next month take care of itself just simply is not in the right mind set. So surely, isn't July a good time for sales training? Motivate the staff and have them fired up ready to go and close those sales?

Make them excited and hungry for the business. How many times have you seen your staff come back all fired up after a training course, enthusiastic about not only what they have learnt, but also what the training has brought back to the forefront on their mind after having been forgotten. Training creates such a positivity, gives the staff the self belief that they can do better, which in turn will earn them more money, which after all, isn't that why they are sales staff in the first place; because money motivates them?
