  1. Coaching Accreditation
Yes there is an excellent coaching accreditation delivered by the Training Foundation. I know that it has been taken on board by some very large organisations in both the public and private sectors. The course is call the TAP course and they can be contacted on 024 7641 1288.

  2. it depends on your requirement
If you want it for yourself in isolation see previous comments.
If you want to inculcate a coaching culture and a coaching qualification in your own line managers (if you are within a large corporate) try Pro Coach from Prosell. It seems to produce good results

  3. Coaching
for interest – Newcastle College are currently offering a distance learning Coaching Certificate and Diploma – free of charge. The qualifications are Nationally recognised and accredited.I’m several months into it – and I heartily recommend it.

  4. Accreditation options
Hi. There are currently two main accreditation bodies for coaching. The European Coaching Institute (ECI) offers accreditation to all suitable qualified coaches – see They also accredit some training organisations – see and click on the links for each programme.

The (currently) larger accreditation body is the ICF – International Coach Federation – mainly American, but has a UK arm. Their accredited training organisations are listed at

    I hope this helps.

  5. Noble Manhatten

I would be happy to recommend Noble Manhatten who I was trained through. They are very efficient, and supportive and set a high standard.

  6. CIPD / OSCM
CIPD offer Certificate and Advanced certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. This is very closely linked to the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring. Interms of Life coaching I would suggest firstly Noble Manhattan then secondly Coaching Academy. The latter are soon to put their prices up by C£1000.

  7. Academy of Executive Coaching
I recently completed a Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching with the Academy of Executive Coaching. It was a very rich learning experience in a great environment, and I loved it. The course is International Coach Federation accredited, and there is an option to go on to a Masters degree.

  8. Newcastle College
I am also part-way through Newcastle College’s distance learning diploma which I find interesting and quite challenging with directions to further reading outside of the course and quite a lot of work to do in addition to the assessed work. You need to line up people to coach and so there’s lots of real experience. It’s also accredited, which is worth having. I don’t know how people can have the confidence to coach without having some proper training – I’d feel like a fraud!

  9. School of Coaching
I can recommend the School of Coaching programme which is accredited by University of Strathclyde’s Business School – it is a very indepth programme – contact Tricia Bey at the Schoolof Coaching in London
