I am keen to become a qualified IT trainer but now find that the course I wanted to attend has been stopped due to lack of demand. Does anyone have any leads to finding an all encompassing course in this field.

  1. Try Skillscert
You could try Skillscert (www.skillscert.com). They offer CompTIAs CTT+ programme (Certified Technical Trainer). It’s a globally recognised training qualification. In the IT industry it’s recognised by the likes of Microsoft, Oracle, IBM etc and the Institute of IT Training.

  2. IT Training
    Hi Colin

How about the Trainer Assessment Programme (TAP) of the Institute of IT Training/Training Foundation?

    Regards

  3. Objective?
It depends what your objective is. Do you want an industry recognised qualification, or do you want to be a really good trainer?

For the first, I’d recommend TAP.

For the second, I’d recommend ROLF. This is still fairly new, and growing in terms of recognition. But, it’s the best solution if you want to be a good trainer. TAP is garbage, but it’s more widely recognised.
