Leadership Styles study – White and Lippitt

default-16x9

Can anyone help please?
I found, somewhere on the net, details of a study on Leadership styles and their effects on the workforce that was done by White and Lippitt. My notes state that this study was done in 1956, but my colleague states that it was done in the 30's - can anyone confirm which is correct? Also, the details I have state how autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire styles affect productivity, but it only states how autocratic and democratic styles affect discontent, satisfaction, absenteeism and dependancy. Am I missing the info about how the laissez-faire style affects the other things, or was that not detailed in the original study? Can anyone point me to a website that has the study on it? Or does anyone have a copy they could send me?
Any help greatly appreciated....
