Learner agreements

Does anyone have an example of a manager / learner agreement for training activity that they would be willing to share ?

  1. Learning contract
Recent research by Learning and Development Roundtable, Corporate Executive Board in Washington, DC, actually suggests that this practice has a negative effect on employee motivation to learn. It infers that the manager is supporting the development of the employee only because of a contractual obligation and not a genuine interest in the employee’s growth. I have a form that I have used in the past and would be willing to share, if you are interested. Consider yourself forewarned!

  2. Easy in road
It depends when you do the agreement. Usually i would have all the participants simply list their ‘concerns’ and ‘expectations’ before the training begins. That way you can cover what they want to know and deal with any problems before they arise. Just make sure you cover all the points before the training ends.
