Garry Platt dug out this fascinating website about learning theory. It gives a remarkable good overview of various developmental approaches to learning.
What's even more markable is that it was not written with people training and learning in mind - but animal training !! This does mean that you have to put up with plenty of pictures of dogs, etc. but if you ignore these (switch off graphics in your browser) and ignore the odd reference to pets, you will get an intelligent review of several different approaches to learning.
