Link to website for freelance trainers

default-16x9

All,

One of the TZ members posted an answer several months ago discussing a site for freelance trainers seeking work. I think membership was a few hundred pounds.

Try as I might, I cannot find the thread. I wonder if anyone could post up the site address again? Also, if anyone has used this site can you comment on the effectiveness of this site for actually getting freelance training work.

Many thanks.

Ranjit

  1. trainerbase?

    Hi Ranjit

Probably it was trainerbase, now the Learning Practitioners Association, http://www.learningpractitioners.org.uk/join/membershipChoice.asp

In my experience it is a very good source of leads to take you to opportunities and it has certainly been well worth the subscription for me over the years. The site does much more as the group is now set up as a full scale professional association as well as a resource site.

    I hope this helps

  2. TrainerBase – The Learning Practitioner Association

    Hi Ranjit

I have found the TrainerBase/LPA site valuable for raising my profile online, this was particularly useful before I had my own web site. I have had direct work from the site, but have probably attracted more work indirectly because I work hard to keep my profile up to date. For just £190+Vat membership, the benefits including free legal helpline, discounted insurance and subscription to Training Journal magazine are worth the membership fee. Take a look here: http://www.learningpractitioners.org.uk/

  3. Many thanks!

    Dear Joy and Rus,

Many thanks to you both for the lead – exactly what I was looking for!

    Yours

  4. building your online reputation

TB/ LPA is a great site (I’m a member too) and support what others have said here.

Also think about your wider website presence, having a blog on http://learningprofessionals.co.uk where your articles are promoted to all site visitors (not just your own) and your work is actively promoted across the web is a great way to get started (for free) – some people are even using it as their web site – for example have a look at This pages from Michael Brown – http://reallearningforachange.learningprofessionals.co.uk/

    all the best

    Mike

  5. Gets one thinking

    Dear Mike,

Many thanks for your advice – really opens up one’s eyes to what is out there and what is possible. Thanks again.
