listening vs hearing – any statistics or figures?

default-16x9

Hi there,

I need a statistic or some figures regarding listening and hearing.

I know one which states that 7 out of every 10 minutes we are communicating. 45% of the time is spent listening, 30% talking, 16% reading and 9% writing.

Does anyone know who is the source of this statistic?

I also remember one vaguely, which is something like in an 8 hour day, we spend 4 hours listening and 2 hearing...

Is that correct? Does anyone know this one? If so, please let me know the complete statistic as well as who is the source for this one.

Does anyone know of any other ones?

Any comments and answers would be very much appreciated.

Thank you and kind regards,
