Looking for recommendations of training companies?

default-16x9

We are looking to put together a list of training companies we would like to work with on a regular basis to deliver management, sales, negotiaton and communications training to our 80 employees based in West London. We are a creative agency so are looking for creative, engaging, stimulating and fun training experiences. If you can help, I would appreciate if you could contact me.

Many thanks
Fiona

  1. Training Provider
A person who I have worked with for many years is John Pearson of Management Development Consultants (E-Mail: [email protected]
    Telephone: (44) 01628 476116)

He works with a variety of UK companies and is very interactive (including management games and similar activities)

  2. Finding local training companies
    Hi Fiona
In the West London area there are many training providers.
Two that I have experienced are http://www.propellertraining.co.uk and http://echelonlearning.co.uk/

I am sure there are many more. You could also contact http://www.trainerbase.co.uk and do a search for local trainers (free for purchasers)

I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Mike
PS I could of course recommend my own company 🙂

  3. Guaranteed training skills are the key
    Dear Fiona

Research shows that the course leader’s learning facilitation skills are the greatest contributor to the achievement of learning objectives. Learners working with a skilled learning facilitator achieve their learning objectives more quickly and retain what they have learned more effectively when they return to the workplace.

The truth is that however nice the surroundings, and whatever the quality of the provider’s sales literature or course materials, the quality of the learner experience largely depends on the performance of the learning and development professional engaged to lead the learning event.

For this reason we recommend TAP Partner training provider organisations, who commit to solely employ TAP qualified learning and development professionals. You will find a full listing of TAP Partner organisations at:

    http://www.tap-training.com/page/about/partners.html

You could also consider talking to IITT(Institute of IT Training) accredited training providers in your area, most of whom have also adopted TAP to guarantee the excellence of their training skills. Do ask the IITT accredited provider you select regarding their policy on this.

To find IITT accredited organisations see:

    http://www.iitt.org.uk/

    Best wishes

  4. All depends
    Hi Fiona

Good luck with your list. You have to decide a couple of points. The quality of the training rarely has much to do with the organisation but with the individual trainers. Most training firms use freelancers.

From what you are saying it appears that you are trying to change the culture and skills base for your employees. Without understanding the end result of what you are trying to achieve you will not get there.

    2 options
1 – agencies and freelance trainers. hence the route many here are advertising there services. However, administration will be your companies responsibility to organise etc.

2 Training company will probably employ the same people but will be better organised and have administrators to do this for you, but you obviously pay a higher price. It is important to remember that the location of the agency does not indicate their geographical coverage.

Personally I would recommend Agencies, who will do the organisation bit, chase around for freelancers, and are the suppliers to many training firms. Cheaper too.

Names in the frame for you include ITPC based in North West UK, Broadskill another large agency. A chap who I have worked with before is Chris Davy t: 0800-695 6005.

    Good luck

    Jason Douglas

  5. Engaging Sales Training
I’d recommend a company called Hotlines for any sales training that you need.

I used them when I worked at L&G.

Keith Wymer (if he still owns the company) delivered the training himself and was excellent.

  7. No adverts please!
I have had to remove a number of comments on this thread from posters advertising their own services. Can I remind potential posters of the rules of Any Answers (they are in the right hand column of the Any Answers page):
Blatant promotion of your own business services and postings which ask the questioner to simply contact offline, without providing helpful information on the forum itself will be removed.
    Thank you

  8. apology
I have to publicly apologize for blatantly advertising my own services in response to this posting. As a new member, I have to confess that I jumped straight in to this forum without reading the rules, so I apologize if I offended anyone, I merely saw that others had done the same thing and followed their lead. Next time I will play by the rules.
