Looking to get hold of some projection eqipment

default-16x9

I'm looking to buy in a projector for use in my seminars, but am finding mixed reviews as to who are the best quality, best value and best with regards to guarantee etc. If there's anyone out there that can help, I'm open to suggestions...

  1. Projector Purchase
I was in the same situation moths ago. I proceed to purchase the Epson S1 for $1,200.00. At the time it was a good purchase because the Epson’s warranty. Look for an Epson dealer close to home to see if the warranty that they offer at the US is valid at home. I had to use the warranty on my projector after one month. They responded well and in less than 48 hours I had a new one at home. (After paying the difference in shipping for next day delivery.) Do not dispose the packing box after the warranty time is over. Usually they want the projector to be shipped in the same box that they came in.

Be aware that the prices of the projector are base in lumens. The market runs about one dollar/lumens. 1,200 lumens are good for presentations. Later I found that Dell Computer Corporation has 1,200 lumens projector for $800.00. Knowing Dell’s reputation and for the price, it may be a good choice.
I hope my comments help you some how. Good luck

  2. Projectors
It seems to me that there is no adequate on-line dealership where I could purchase a decent projector. I’ve looked through loads of “cheap deal” websites and still can’t find anything to fit my criteria. If anybody knows somewhere, then please let me know

  3. Me too!!
I’m in exactly the same position, really tearing my hair out trying to find unbiased and relevant reviews/information on the equipment that is going to be most applicable to my company. If only there was an online source…..can anyone help?!

  4. Glad I found you guys
I am in the same situation. setting up a new arm specialising in training for trainers. Need some top spec presentation gear but without the biggest of budgets. I have looked at Epson and Canon so far but open for new ideas. I’ll keep a check on the thread.

  5. Projectors are the vein of my life!
Projectors are the vein of my life! As a member of this community for over three years, it’s high time we had a review/analysis of all the projectors on the market. I’m the Director of a large training provider and we’re currently looking at a 10+ purchase to deploy amongst the our team. Advice, guidance welcomed…keep up the good work

  6. A word of caution
I was recently making a presentation and projector was crucial because of large audience. Suddenly a message came on the screen, something like ‘Lamp has reached total user hours and must be replaced now’. Several IT savvy participants tried to cancel the message, but to no avail. The machine is from a high profile international manufacturer. If I buy again I’ll be asking some questions re this ‘feature’.
