Management Training for IT Managers…?

default-16x9

I would like to source some management training or 1-2-1 management coaching for an IT manager which will specifically help them manage a team of techies. We have existing relationships with organisations who offer generic maangement trianing and specialised sales management training (so, thank you but we don't need recommendations in this area) however they offer nothing specifically for IT managers.

Can anyone help? Have you helped your IT manager in this way? Any ideas??

thanks,
Shona

At Matrix FortyTwo, we run a number of courses designed to bridge the gap between IT users and IT ‘techies’ as this is a very under-rated gap.

Although we do not run any specific IT Manager courses, I personally have 25 years experience of working in both worlds and would be happy to offer 1-1 help to your IT manager to manage his ‘techie’ team.

Please let me know if I can help.

    Kind regards.

  3. Training for IT managers
    Hi Shona,

I spent many years as a manager in IT and I’m now a trainer delivering (ILM endorsed) bespoke management training, including managers of technical people. There are some very specific issues relating to techies and I would be very happy to advise if you want to contact me.

    Regards

  4. coaching and development for IT Manager
    Hi Shona,
We work with several organisations who have managers who are promoted from a technical role and responsible for a team of engineers/technicians. We provide both management development and 1:1 coaching for them. There is often a focus on communicating effectively (often with people who can appear ‘difficult’) and coaching their team to improved performance, motivation and energy. Feel free to have a look at our website at http://www.raconsultancy.com or call/e-mail me on 07970 868920

    Kind Regards

They are people, just people and need to be treated as such. Treat them as morons they will behave like morons. Treat them as prima-donnas they will behave like prima-donnas. Treat them like Techies and they will behave like Techies but treat them like responsible adults and they will respond like responsible adults. I have a technical background myself, but when I was promoted into a management role it didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered to my staff (a considerable number of staff, I may add) was how I acted towards them as human beings, wih civility and respect – nothing else. In my experience this is the key to successfully managing ANYBODY, Techie or not.
