I would like to know of any training providers that people can recommend that write this type of course which we could then take on and run in-house ourselves. Are there key areas that are "must-haves" to be included?

With regard to your must haves in the course you may like to have a copy of my article on home-working many of the principles of which relate to remote working and the management of such workers. From the principles a workshop could be developed.
It has been published on this website last week and HR Zone but I can send you a copy if you email me at info@sjbealehrconsult.co.uk
Kind regards

what type of event are you looking for?
Lucy
are you looking for a “how to” course that is fairly prescriptive or are you looking for something more interactive and oriented at the challenges of “leading” a remote team and the team working between team members?
If the latter I did something for BP a couple of years ago that was very successful. Let Me Know if you want further details.

Remote working trainers
I went to a very good course on remote management run by Level Headed http://www.levelheaded.org.uk
They focus on the public/voluntary sectors and are based in London.
